We will be having vendors, door prizes, a bed turning, concessions, demonstrations, 2nd hand treasures & raffle quilt to be raffled off that day. We are to have over 400 quilts to view. All quilts will tour America for two years, possibly split into three separate exhibits: Patriotic, Biblical and Children’s. Quilts with your patterns and stories will possibly be published by Judy Howard, Dorcas Publishing, award-winning author of three quilt books. (See www.HeavenlyPatchwork.com)
Mail each quilt with signed consent/entry form below to arrive by March 26, 2008 to 5025 Brettshire Way, Oklahoma City, OK 73142. See www.HeavenlyPatchwork.com for updates.
Quilts will be 22” x 22” with a 4” opening sleeve sewn along the upper back and four plastic drapery rings spaced along the upper edge. Please include on the back of your quilt: title of quilt, your name, address, phone number and email.
Please also attach securely along the bottom of your quilt (that can be flipped up for shipping) a 16”wide by 6”high fabric quilted label that includes the quilt title, your name, town and state, and a brief story of what inspired you to make the quilt. You can type, embroider, cross-stitch or paint it on fabric, quilt it and coordinate it as part of your quilt art. Please include the sales price and contact info if quilt is for sale. You will deal directly with the buyer and receive 100% of proceeds.
Please write a 20-100 word story about your quilt—what inspired you, your name, address, phone, email, quilt title and your quilt pattern with instructions (pattern optional) and email to BuckboardQuilts@cox.net. If you’d like to sell your pattern with instructions with 100% proceeds going to you, include your contact info and price on the quilted label. Or if you’d like to print out your pattern with instructions for each venue to sell for you, mention that patterns are available at the front desk on your quilt label. The venue will keep 20% of the pattern cost for their work selling it.
Categories for judging for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons: Best of Show, Best Theme, Most Original, Best Handwork. Best Machine work, Best Art, Best Contemporary, Best Traditional, Best Crazy, Best Applique, Best Pieced, Best Youth under 18, Best Youth under 12, Best Mixed, Best Pictorial. Judges reserve right to switch categories.

Sew Pieceful and Creative Threaders Quilting Guilds of Wabash County, Indiana will welcome over 1000 Quilters to the Honeywell Center for the 18th Annual Gathering of Quilters on April 5th, 2008. A show of Quilts crafted by area Quilters and Celebrity Quilt artists, shopping in vendor’s booths, lectures and luncheon will provide a full day of activities for participants from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Ohio. Guest speaker, Joen Wolfrom, author of Color Play and Visual Coloring, will focus on the event theme …The Magical World of Color!
Joen’s lecture during the morning program will be “It’s Color That Makes the Quilts go WOW!” The registration fee is $30, which includes admission to the quilt show and vendors, the commemorative pin and buffet luncheon if received by March 1st. Joen’s afternoon lecture is “Creating Fascinating Quilts from Traditional Roots” . Admission charge for the afternoon is $10, no pre-registration required.
Each year this event is hosted by a different group in a different city. Wabash holds a unique distinction in the quilt world as the birthplace of Marie Daugherty Webster who pioneered the quilt revival of the 1920’s and authored the first definitive book about quiltmaking in 1915. To aid in the preservation of this past for the future, a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Wabash County Historical Museum.
Admission charge to view the Quilt Show is $5.00 . Hours are 8 am – 4 pm.

Held in spectacular scenery over several venues, this show gives you a chance to reflect on exhibitions while travelling the short distances between buildings, and to see outside as well as inside of local churches, to sample the wonderful hospitality in the area, and to see the beautiful Loch Lomond and surrounding hills and glens.
There are also very popular social events to occupy evenings, with a cruise on the Loch, a ceilidh and after the prize giving, a lovely meal in the Kilted Skirlie overlooking the Loch.
Please note, because the exibitions are held in church buildings, the show starts on a Wednesday and finishes Saturday, so please arrange your travel dates carefully so that you don’t miss the show! More details on the website.
